Nurturing Parenting Program

The Nurturing Family Program is designed to build strong, healthy bonds between parents and their children.  The program utilizes the Nurturing Parenting Program ® curriculum, which provides parents with effective behavior management tools and encourages the development of healthy parent-child relationships, so that families may face their unique challenges together.

Group discussions, interactive activities, and videos help increase parents’ and kids’ understanding of program concepts. The classes are designed to strengthen families through education in:

  • Empathy
  • Discipline
  • Responsibility
  • Child Development Dad and Baby
  • Healthy Family Roles
  • Self Awareness
  • Personal Power
  • Positive Behavior Management

The Nurturing Family Program is family-centered so parents and children attend classes together. While parents are gaining knowledge and skills for communicating and building a strong relationship with their children, the children are learning to be responsible for themselves, how to manage their own behavior and to communicate effectively with their parents.

The group sessions are age specific in order to address the challenges parents are experiencing at each developmental stage of their children’s lives. Classes are offered for parents of children ages 0-5, parents of children ages 5-12, and parents of adolescence. Also offered are classes specifically designed for teen parents and military families.

Our comprehensive Nurturing Parenting Program classes run for 17 weeks.  Classes are available for:

  • Parents of children ages 0-5
  • Parents of children ages 5-12
  • Parents of adolescents

Nurturing Parenting Program Participant Testimonials

Mom and daughter

"Before I attended the Nurturing Parenting Program, I can honestly say I was clueless about being a mom ... During the class, I learned why my child acted in a certain way and what options I had as a parent to deal with her actions.  I also received emotional support.  I learned about other resources available to me, which relieved a world of stress.  If it weren't for the Nurturing Parenting Classes, I would probably still be clueless.  This program is an essential part of parenting."
