History
Family Connections is a local 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with a long history of supporting families in the Pikes Peak region.
The agency's roots were established in 1976 when it was incorporated as Parents Anonymous, a volunteer child abuse prevention organization that provided support groups for high-risk families until 1982. In 1989, the organization was reactivated as a nonprofit partner of the El Paso County Health Department's Child Abuse Prevention Program.
The organization's name was changed to Pikes Peak Family Connections in 1992 to better reflect its mission. In 2001, PPFC became a stand-alone agency, still working tirelessly to improve the lives of families and children in the Pikes Peak region.
In order to provide families with a break during stressful times, the agency added the KPC Kids' Place Respite Center. Respite and crisis child care has been provided to hundreds of families in our community since it opening its doors in 2004.
In November 2009, the agency unveiled its new logo and is now known simply as Family Connections.
